France Télévisions Moves Broadcast Infrastructure to Scaleway Cloud

France Télévisions, the country's public broadcast group, has selected Scaleway as its cloud platform provider. The move takes national broadcast infrastructure off its current footing and onto a French-owned cloud stack. Data Center Dynamics reported the agreement without disclosing contract terms or a migration timeline.
Public broadcasters choosing sovereign cloud providers is a pattern, not an exception. Regulators and procurement rules in Europe increasingly pressure state-affiliated entities to keep workloads on domestic or EU-based infrastructure. Scaleway, owned by Iliad Group, is a credible French alternative to US hyperscalers.
Watch whether this deal signals a broader European public-sector exit from US cloud dependency. The operator question is not which cloud is cheapest. It is which cloud passes a regulatory procurement gate. That gate is moving.
